Moving Your Checking From A Bank To Your Credit Union?

We can take the load off your shoulders!

If you've been considering moving your checking account to us but have been afraid of the hassle, fear no more! Here's an easy, step by step guide to moving your account-- conveniently done at home, at work, or at your credit union.

Rather than having to drive to your financial institution, close your account, figure out how many checks are outstanding, decide on how much money you need to leave, and then deal with opening your new account, we've provided a better way. Everything you need for closing your existing account and opening a new one is right here, at your fingertips.

Follow these steps and in 1-2-3, you'll be enjoying great service and affordable checking offered by your credit union.
1-2-3 Electronic Application (the forms needed to follow the next 3 steps, simply fill them out online, and print them out)

1-- Take out the Checking Account Closure Notification form and fill in the blanks (you can do it electronically here, the link is above, by filling in the form online, printing it out, and sending it to Tri-County Credit Union via US Mail). It tells your financial institution when you want your account closed and what to do with the remaining money on the day it closes (tip: Ask to have the account closed 30 days after your new account has been opened.) Once completed, mail it to the institution where your checking account is curently located.

2-- Complete the Checking Account Application form (also available here, electronically) provided by your credit union. Mail the completed form to us or stop by with the information. Don't forget to include a check for your initial deposit.

3-- If you have any automatic transactions, you'll need to inform the participating companies of your new credit union checking account. Use the Change in Direct Deposit and Change in Automatic Payment forms to notify institutions putting money into, or taking money out of, your account. If you have more than one automatic deposit or withdrawal, just ask your credit union for addition notification forms.
